Name: Stephanie Phillips on Mar 31, 2011Comments: Please do not compromise this show in any way. I am from Australia, where HBO and other networks are widely regarded and valued because of shows such as Sopranos etc. I recently visited the states for six months and am a loyal AMC viewer now only because of Mad Men put it in the limelight. This is a show which brings a HBO like credibility to your networkFlag

Name: Debbie Breeden on Mar 31, 2011Comments: This show is brilliant! I love how historical events are expertly woven into the story lines. Since I grew up in the era of this show, I'm able to see it from the adult perspective rather than as a child. What an escape to step back into time and watch this story so creatively told by Matthew Weiner. I can't remember when a show has been on TV that showed such attention to period detail, had such amazing costumes, and such a talented cast. They deserve every award won so far and deserve to continue sharing this story with us, the Mad Men Fans! Please let us have a season 5 as soon as possible. I would not have known about this show if it were not for the fact that I saw the Mad Men Barbie dolls. That drew me into the show and I have been telling everyone I know to watch it also. Please don't leave us hanging....will Don really marry Megan? Will they move back into his old house and toss Betty out? Will Sally adjust to teen life in the turbulent 60's? How will the other characters grow and develop? We've all come to love them all and can't imagine not continuing the story. I believe everything holding back the 5th season will be resolved...it's just gotta be!Flag

Name: Therese Bohn on Mar 31, 2011Comments: Matthew Weiner has given a goldmine of perfection to AMC--but I suspect that AMC does NOT abide by it's own slogan "Story Matters Here". I don't think any of the top brass at AMC have even watched an episode of it-- if they did, they'd know that cutting any cast is a completely damning to the storyline, and a thoughtless gesture to those who care about the quality of this show. I doubt very much that you've read this petition either-all you see is the money. As a writer of this petition, it would give me great satisfaction to know that you at least READ this petition and comments- but Story DOESN'T Matter to you, nor does quality, or creativity, or the hearts of all fans here. I'm disgusted. Now get your crap together, give Matt what he wants, and save any last shred of affection you might have had from the fans.Flag

Name: Therese Bohn on Apr 1, 2011Comments: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! GO MATT WEINER! Mad Men will be back in March 2012 (Okay, so it's not 2011) But your support helped bring the negotiations to an end! Thank You All so much for all your love and support! Here's the full article from Variety on the deal! Posted: Thu., Mar. 31, 2011, 4:40pm PT AMC, Matt Weiner set 'Mad Men' pact Deal comes after tense wrangling on creative, budget issues By Cynthia Littleton Matt Weiner 'Mad Men' creator Matthew Weiner has signed with AMC to helm three more seasons of the drama. Break out the cocktails: AMC and "Mad Men" creator-exec producer Matthew Weiner have reached an agreement for a new $30 million contract that will keep the showrunner at the helm of the Emmy-winning drama series for as many as three more seasons. Deal comes after a week of high tension and highly public talks focusing on points pressed by AMC and "Mad Men" producer Lionsgate TV in order to maximize the series' revenue potential on the front end by squeezing more commercial spots into each seg and trimming the cost of the series' large ensemble. The sides came to a compromise on the running time issue: The show will run at its standard 47-minute length for each season premiere and season finale; the 11 episodes in between will run 45 minutes, but Weiner will have the option of delivering a 47-minute version for VOD and DVD. On the cast cost issue, it's understood the studio backed down a bit from its demand to contain the overall growth of the cast budget in future seasons. The negotiations forced a delay in the start of the show's upcoming season, its fifth, to March of next year rather than the midsummer start that has been the show's pattern since its debut in 2007.Weiner's new pact will make him one of TV's highest-paid showrunners. It's valued at nearly $30 million if the show runs another three seasons. Weiner's deal was hammered out by his reps at CAA and attorney Jeanne Newman of Hansen Jacobson. Attorney Jim Jackoway of Jackoway Tyerman repped AMC in the talks with Weiner and the earlier negotiations with Lionsgate. THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE! Matt really appreciates the support of all the fans! -Therese Bohn :-DFlag

Is anyone thinking...get back to work and get this fantastic show back on the air!Flag

A few eps, then a hiatus, etc. The fans had to put up with that, but it's better than waiting until another year passes to see the BEST SHOW EVER ON TV!Flag
