Dear Don Garber and fellow Major League Soccer Management, We the fans of Major League Soccer would like to bring to your attention our complete disgust with the officiating in our league. The world is watching our league with more interest every year and we are embarrassed to show them our biggest downfall, our officials! This year (but not this year alone) we have seen: Refs who don't make very obvious calls that happen right in front of them. Refs that make the wrong call and/or the wrong call on the wrong player. Refs that, knowing they made the wrong call, proceed to make up calls against the other team to even things out. Refs who cant keep control of the game from the starting whistle and by their lack of calls, or by the quality of calls made, shape the mood of the game, hence angering the players and fights and rough play ensue. Refs that give certain big name players and/or teams preferential treatment. Refs that were so bad they were booed off the pitch. Games and possibly playoff births entirely decided by the referees calls or lack there of. Something needs to be done and it needs to be done NOW, not next season!
