We the undersigned, join in the effort to postpone or eliminate, the implementation of the "Marine Life Protection Act". The State of California as you well know is in dire financial distress, and is at the point of considering, the removal of firefighters, police, and teachers as a result of the recent ballot failures and the massive deficit. Implementing the MLPA at this time would result in a massive revenue loss to the state, from lost jobs, business bankruptcies, reduced fishing license revenue, as well as the attendant sales and services to the boating and fishing communities and other industries. I believe it would be imprudent to force additional taxes upon already overtaxed Californians, and do not see how this can be avoided. Surely the state cannot afford to loose this revenue, without replacing it with new taxes, fees and other charges for government services. Thank you for your consideration.
total nonsense. we cant afford to lose the fishing jobs while the state is already broke. leave the regs alone and focus on the real budget issues instead of killing small businesses!
