Quite simply I am totally against uch a proposal, since the life blood of any club is it fans. Destroy individuality and you destroy the community, which is this must never succeed.

Comments: I'm signing because this deserves more visibility. It's the funniest thing on the entire Internet. When Chambers Dictionary next revise their online edition when you click on "stupid" it will take you straight here. MK have already killed their own football team through apathy and Wimbledon via greed and laziness. Luton Town are not for the taking; you'e been trying to get us for about a quarter of a century now, why can't you get the message

Comments: Not a chance in hell! Why would we merge with a club that has a hardcore of 1000 plus the 3000-4000 let in for free fans. LTFC have what MK will never have, history, soul, passion. Should of invested in Milton Keynes fc from a few years ago.

Comments: Luton and MK Mongs are two of the most despicable football clubs in Britain, so if they were to merge I would have one less club to hate. So please merge, then either relocate to somewhere less vile, like Baghdad. Or preferably go out of business.

Comments: It's sad that most of the responses to this petition have been abusive nonsense - since it is a subject which deserves a serious debate. For that at least I applaud Ian. Having said that, I am completely against the idea. Franchise football and the destruction of Wimbledon FC have proved that tradition, history and community cannot be bought or sold. Ian's central argument is about a combined club being financially stronger than the sum of its parts. It is true that a combined club would benefit from a wider catchment area - however I don't support Luton Town because I need to support a successful club. I support them because they are MY club. A merged club would simply be a different club. I actually grew up in MK, but I couldn't possibly support a stolen club, and as such I feel no affinity with MK Dons whatsoever. There is no particular reason why I would want to support such a team any more than I might support Chelsea or Arsenal because I live in London. Neither of these are MY team either. I suspect that the overwhelming majority of LTFC supporters would agree with this, and if so, it means that Ian's central argument is irrelevant here to the majority of fans. If MK Dons supporters felt the same way (i.e. a merged club is a different club) then Ian might also be wrong in his view that a merged club would be stronger. It could in fact alienate both sets of supporters. It should also be noted that the FA have been quite clear that any club mergers would take the league place of the lowest party to the merger, so one team or the other (currently Luton) would suffer in the short term if a merger took place with the clubs in different divisions. A groundshare should also be discussed as a separate option to a merger. I'd feel a lot happier if my fellow LTFC fans who are against this proposal could argue against it in a more coherent and persuasive manner. We've been here before and I'm sure that abusive ranting only plays into the hands of those who feel they can treat football supporters as a commodity.

Comments: What's the point of you two ground sharing, joining up or whatever carp you're trying to do. Just sell both grounds and build Tesco's on them. It would do the rest of the league a favour to be rid of those 2 absolutely shite excuses for football clubs.

Comments: god what a load of wasted aggression. just ley each club live and die on its own. just stop being such pathetic aggressive rude idiots. all of you that act like that are the reason your clubs get into trouble and dont make money as the normal nice fans that would come stay away and your club loses money and goes into administration. YOU ARE THE REASON THIS PETITION EVEN EXISTS. I and at least 8 friends dont go to luton anymore (all used to be season ticket holders) as we hated the abuse and hatred at thr ground. so when you are all bleating on about things remember it was your fault you are where you are as your agressivness and hatred has cost your club millions over the years by driving thousands of fans away.
