Despite overwhelming opposition from Alaskans, Governor Murkowski is trying - AGAIN! - to lift the ban on toxic pollution in Alaskan salmon streams.
Last May, thousands of Alaskans sent a loud and clear message to Governor
Murkowski: don’t lift the ban on toxic pollution in our salmon streams! The proposal would allow “mixing zones” in fish spawning areas; “mixing zones” are just another loophole to get around the Clean Water Act’s mandate to protect
people and fish, and they rely on the long-discounted notion that dilution is the
solution to pollution.
Now, the Murkowski Administration is back with a "new" proposal - but they'r just putting lipstick on a pig! They still want to add toxic pollution to Alaska salmon streams where none occurs now. TAKE TWO MINUTES NOW TO TELL THE GOVERNOR "NO" TO MIXING ZONES IN ALASKA FISH STREAMS. |
