Name: Joseph Montuori on Jul 24, 2009Comments: Have the same problem here 2004 Galant paint started fading about six months ago its now spread to trunk hood an top of the car, I contacted Mitsubishi and had me take the car to the dealer ship where they took pictures and submitted them to Mitsubishi, after about 3 weeks I called them to find out the status of the report, they assigned a case # and finally called me back 2days later to tell that my car was out of warranty, well I kind figured that, but you would think that paint should last a bit more thta 4 years.Flag

Name: Melissa Neuharth on Sep 7, 2009Comments: I own a 2004 mitsubishi eclipse and the paint clearcoat started peeling over a year ago. I had t deal with this when my car was two old and the back truck lid had to be repainted due to the paint being defective. When I asked if this could show p in other areas, i got a smart remark from beaverton Mitsubishi and was told "it could show up anywhere at any time on the car" GREAT! We as customers NO NOT desreve to be treated with disrespect or rudness, and NO matter what it takes Mitsubishi WILL be help accountable and the whole world will know what kind of company they really are. (looks like they are doing avery good job at showing the world how shady and greedy they are already, even without the paint issue) Sad Vert Very Very Sad!Flag

I believe Mitsubishi should recall these vehicles and repaint them free of cost. They are trying to get out of this paying little or nothing. Somebody needs to step in and take charge.Flag

Name: Mark McElveen on Jan 6, 2010Comments: Boy, you would think that paint problems would come from the American automakers, i.e, General Motors a few years ago, and not from a Japanese manufacturer. We bought this car new in 2005 in lieu of Honda, Ford, Nissan, and Toyota due to its styling and yes because it is a Japanese manufacturer. Our Galant GTS did not disappoint until the last spring when the common fading problem started. We also got the class action suit notice in the mail and while I'm happy that someone started this, it is woefully inadequate for the new paint job that is required. Our car has 150,000 miles on it and we had planned on keeping it "forever", but as another responder noted, it cannot even be traded in as is. WE NEED A BETTER DEAL!!!!!!!! Let the court knowFlag

Name: Sean Duncan on Jan 22, 2010Comments: I bought a black 2003 Eclipse in May of 2009. The paint had obviously been "touched up" by the dealer or previous owner, because within two months of religously washing and babying the car, numerous white areas began appearing ALL OVER the body of the car. I then began to take notice of numerous other black mitsubishis in my city with what appears to be the exact same problem. If anyone has any information on how to resolve this issue, please contact me at playboyrockstar26@yahoo.com. Thank you.Flag

Name: Marcia Gordon on Feb 12, 2010Comments: My son gave me his 2002 black Mitsubishi Gallant in July of 2008. Very shortly thereafter I started noticing the paint fading in one area of the roof. Then it came on like gangbusters...on the trunk, on the hood, and other areas on the roof. I called a Mitsubishi dealer on Columbus, OH, where I live, and was told that it was my fault..probably the car wash I was using. Then in December 2009 I received the class action lawsuit paperwork from the attorneys. As part of the process to participate in the lawsuit I took the car to the same dealership I had called, and low and behold they certified that my car was experiencing the delamination problem. The settlement amount is a joke. They should repaint every car that was manufactured improperly. Good luck with that!!Flag
