Name: Anonymous on Jul 29, 2008Comments: I have had the same problem as many listed here. 2003 Eclipse/Black. The fading began on the roof, near the sunroof and has since spread to the trunk by the rear window and now the hood! I love my car otherwise but it's embarassing to drive it looking like I took a sandblaster to it! My car has been professionally washed and waxed- no buffer used, and has been garage-kept for the near five years I've had it. This shouldn't be happening! Mitsubishi, be responsible for these defects in your manufacturing process!Flag

Name: Shawn D on Sep 4, 2008Comments: My 2004 black endeavor has the paint falling off as well. I purchased this car brand new and was told this was a "luxury suv." A $36,000.00 "luxury vehicle" that has it's paint fall off in 3 years. I created a website... www.neverbutmitsubishiagain.comFlag

Name: PETRA MENA on Sep 4, 2008Comments: My 2004 black Endeavor paint is also fading. I took my car into the dealership where I purchased it and they took pictures, etc. The "manager" did not authorize my car to get painted because there are too many miles. I was not asking for a new engine I hate my car now!Flag

Name: Jason Alloway on Sep 8, 2008Comments: 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, black. About 6 months ago a weird spot appeared on the hood and trunk of my car about an inch in diameter. Now that spot spans almost the entire hood and trunk, and has appeared on other parts of my car. Mitsubishi denied the claim through the dealer. Working with there corporate office now to fix it. What are the odds there is a class action law suit on its way.Flag

I have always taken very good care of my care, so the issue of not washing it caused the paint damage is false. It is so embarrasing to drive my car around town or to pick people up! Mitsubishi needs to fix this problem ASAP!Flag

Name: Joan Mettrock on Nov 18, 2008Comments: The paint on the roof of my 2003 black Mitsubishi Eclipse That I purchased brand new in Nov 2003 ,started to turn white in spots over this past summer 2008. After seeing a 2002 in a parking lot with this over the entire body of the car I became alarmed and brought my car to 2 different body shops and was told the clear coat was delaming from the paint and that paint was defective. Contacted Mitsubishi in Oct 2008 when it started to spead at an alarming rate. Brought the car to the loca dealer two times for photos.11/17/08 was contacted by Mitsubishi and told it was from outside influence such as buffing from detailing and they would not cover any of the cost for repair. My car has under 40k miles was garaged for the first two and a half years after I purchased it. Has never been detailed with a buffer only washed and waxed at home. I took such exceptional car of this car It makes me sick to look at it. I just want to get the paint fixed and get rid of the car before it spreads to the entire car. Is there a class action suit filed yetFlag

I cannot afford to buy a new car for another two-three years, and when I do, what sort of trade-in will I get for this thing that looks diseased I wanted to buy another Eclipse but am now looking at Toyota.Flag
