Name: Anonymous on Apr 12, 2008Comments: My car had paint problems well before 100,000 miles and Mitsubishi refuses to take care of it because my warranty has expired. This is not a problem I should be paying for, if the company just painted my car correctly the first time there would be no such problem.Flag

Name: Arel Gordon on Apr 12, 2008Comments: I had to get my car repainted because of severe oxidation to the roof and trunk of my 2000 Mitsubishi Galant ES in Kalapana Black. I remember last summer, I was checking the latest EVO at the Mitsubishi dealership, and both the Carbon Fiber wing and black paint as already oxidizing... on the dealership's lot. Horrible.Flag

Name: Jeff Hoffman on Apr 13, 2008Comments: bought a black 2000 Galant, at the beginning of 2004, had a little oxidation of the paint. three years later the roof is completely stripped, the trunk is half remaining, and the hood has spots all over it. a few other areas are effected as well. the car runs great, but due to the problems with the FACTORY paint, my re-sale value is ridiculous.Flag

Name: Steven Ashworth on Apr 13, 2008Comments: I bought my 2000 BLACK Eclipse GT last January and and now 15 months later it is turning WHITE around the sunroof, tops of both doors and on the hatch. I took it to the nearest Mitsu dealer and they denied my claim too saying it was to far out of warranty. Their paint warranty is 7 years or 70,000 miles so my car was 1 yr and 40,000 past that! My local news did a story on it and what I don't understand is when there are this many people with the same problem how can you HONESTLY blame it on ALL these people not washing their car right or using hard brushes or by saying it's the weather when CLEARLY we all don't live in the same state. I mean ARE THEY SERIOUS Another thing they have said and it's like what Basically what they are telling people is that their DARK paint is only good for about 7 years so if you own a DARK colored MItsu you better trade it in by that 7th year or you are doomed to have this problem! I use to love Mitsu but after this EVEN if they fix my car I will make it my life's mission to make sure people know the truth about how they treat their consumers! They need to RE-PAINT EVERY CAR AND GIVE FREE RENTALS WHILE THE CARS ARE BEING DONE! Also they need to use a different paint or let you choose where it gets re-painted at! Thanks, Steven AshworthFlag

I have owned it for only 8 months and my side view mirror on the driver side has a half dollar size chip of paint missing. There are several spots of chipping in other areas on the car and small scratches straight from the dealer themselves. Not very happy about the situation.Flag

Name: Karrie Bloodhart on Jun 10, 2008Comments: I have a 2002 black mitsubishi spyder, which is garaged at night and parked in a covered parking structure in Phoenix Arizona. So, in approximately 45mintues in the morning and 45 mintues in the early eavining my car sees the sun, and with this little time in the sun it's oxidizing big huge white spydering spots on my hood and my trunk. It's defective paint and Mitsubishi should stand by their product. Actually if this petition doesn't work maybe a class action lawsuit against Mitsubishi would make them take notice.Flag
