We, the undersigned, call on the Michigan house of representatives to put on a public ballot a vote concerning the ban of smoking in public bars and restaurants. We believe that, in Michigan, where unemployment is already highest in the nation, a ban on smoking in public restaurants and bars will cause a lack of business therefore layoffs and high unemployment. Our state cannot afford this.
