| 1704 | Darla Elletson | I have 4 pitbulls and 2 poodles and there all inside dogs. I have 4 children and NONE of my pits have even snapped at my children. You cant single out a specific breed because of behavior of a BAD owner. This would be like taking a child out of your home for no reason. |

| 1706 | Paula Swirtz | Most dog bites actually come from smaller breeds, but because they don't inflict as much harm, they aren't reported.
As an advocate of dog adoption and a past dog foster mom, I urge you to not allow this ban to go through!
These breeds are gentle giants that unfortunately, come into the hands of bad people who corrupt and harm them. These breeds are not a danger to society but the people that train them to be mean are. Let's focus our energies on the real problem and stop blaming the innocent - the dogs. |
| 1707 | Patrice Smith | The problems being addressed , here, are a direct result of the owner and their inability to provide proper environment/training for these animals -- not the animals themselves. Any dog, regardless of size and breed, can be trained to be aggressive and threatening. |
| 1708 | Anonymous | My dog is the sweetest girl, but people look at her in fear because of the bad reputation her breed has been given. Putting this ban through would be wrong, trying to take a member of a family away is immoral. My dog is like my child, and is in no way a threat. Don't judge them all by the actions of a few. |
| 1709 | amy powers | it is the owner of the dog that is responsible for its behavior, not the dog. if you are an irresponsible owner you will raise a problem dog no matter what the breed. please don't punish the responsible owners who love, raise, adopt and rescue these dogs. |

| 1713 | maureen riverdahl | This ban is absurd. Its the people who dont care for, train, or those who use these animals in criminal ways that need to be banned. Why aren't people who are involved in vicious attacks euthanized or banned from the state? There are pets that are family members that you will be killing. Explain to a child why you want to kill a loving family member of theirs! |
| 1714 | Matt Bewley | |
| 1715 | Chad Aylesworth | |
| 1716 | Breanna Johnson | What was said it right.. Its not the breed it is the people who own.. It is in how they are brought up.. Please think about it my dogs are my babies.. I can't imagine having to put them down.. |
| 1717 | Tammy Nadeau Lawrence | This is outrageous and must not pass. It is no less than genocide. Punish the people that are using these animals for wrongful purposes. The animals do what they are taught. Its not their fault they are being exploited this way. Those are people that shouldn't raise children let alone animals. |
| 1718 | Carey Edwards | I completely oppose Breed Specific Legislation. I own a dog daycare & boarding facility and feel that BSL punishes innocent dogs instead of "problem" people. I respect & understand the ideas behind BSL. I have a 5 year old & would not want her at risk of being harmed by an aggressive dog. However, I just feel that this ban will not do what it's intended and harmless pets & their owners will suffer. Please reconsider and write legislation that makes sense. |
| 1719 | Kristen Hagen | Not all dogs of these breeds are bad. It would be cruel to take away someone's family pet because others train their own dogs to be mean. |
| 1720 | Trista Pepper | Proud owner of a sweet and gentle rottie. |
| 1721 | Kenny Meat | Dogs are not the problem - owners are. Ya see the dog will be fine if raised properly. Just like kids, if you raise them correctly they turn out to be good adults/citizens. Raise them in the wrong enviroment they become convitcs, felons etc. Dogs need a good up bringing no matter what the breed is. Don't tell people what kind of dogs they can or can not have. Teach them the proper way to handle them and the problem will be resolved. |
| 1722 | Tanya | How can you blame the dog when more likely it is the owner for attacks. I have sveral rottweilers and not a one of them would harm a fly. |
| 1723 | lisa mears | its our right to own any breed we wish its not the breed its the owners.i am a pit bull owner and he is the sweetest dog ever, any dog will be mean if treated mean, mine might lick you to death though. |
| 1724 | Natasha Drum | Any breed of dog can/will/does bite. What's next? Banning the people from owning any breed of dog? |
| 1725 | Holly Gazett | |
| 1726 | Janell Forbes | I think that banning all dogs of a certian breed because of some irresponsible pet owners is wrong. You need to target the real problem, which is the irresponsible pet owners themselves that are either not training their dogs or training them poorly. |
| 1727 | jordan anderson | |
| 1728 | Kim Birt | Dogs have never been born bad!! It's the people who make them bad and it's ruining it for the rest of us! I would be lost with out my dogs! |
| 1729 | Heather T. | |
| 1730 | DeAnna | This is not necessary! Breed Specific Legislation isn't right. Why not ban the people who don't know how to PROPERLY train their dog? John Lesch, you are blaming the wrong end of the leash!
No such thing as a bad dog. |
| 1731 | Jo Perez | Breed bans keep widening worldwide. I'd rather see more be spent on punishing people that don't contain their dogs adequately or whose dogs are mis-used or abused. Also, there can be viscious dogs and friendly dogs of any breed.
Focusing on the crime rather than penalizing a whole breed or separating families with perfectly good dogs just because of their breed or breed type is devastating to the owners which include children very attached to their pets!
Would rather see efforts to focus on behavior of any animal or any owner that is criminal or dangerous instead of calling for extermination or removal of any race or breed. |
| 1732 | Anonymous | Okay. First of all, even CONSIDERING this law is a high sign of ignorance.
I have met over 20 pit bulls in my life, and sir, may I tell you, they are the best dogs out there. If I had the choice, I would have a pit bull over a german shepherd?
Do you know why?
They're just as smart, just as loyal, just smaller.
This is the equivalent of racial profiling, do you know why, sir?
Because you obviously do not know anything about dog breeds.
Akitas are classified as fighting dogs, but they are actually guardian dogs.
Chows are known to be very snappy, but that is due to personality, bad upbringing, and bad breeding.
Rottweilers and Pit Bulls NATURALLY go well with children!
Wolf-Hybrids? They should only be allowed to liscenced individuals, approved by a special board.
ANY dog can be trained to fight.
ANY dog can be turned from a loving puppy to a vicious monster.
HUMANS make these animals fight.
HUMANS abuse and neglect these animals.
HUMANS are the ones who refuse to give them loving homes.
HUMANS are the ones who gave these wonderful animals a bad name.
And you're banning the VICTIM? THE DOG?
Dogs will follow what they are taught. It's how they are hard-wired. I'd rather LISCENCES be given out for these breeds, than eliminating them entirely. That is cruel, selfish, and a very bright sing of IGNORANCE.
I pray to the Lord he will grace you with the action of reconsidering this unnecessary act. |
| 1733 | Melissa Klingerman | BSL is shortsighted and a foolish knee jerk reaction by politicians who want to try and make an impression but don't do their homework. |
| 1734 | Jacqueline Milosz | |
| 1735 | Codi Lashyro | tell me what ever i have to do to keep this bill from happening |
| 1736 | Jody Bystrom | How much good press do you see on pitbulls? These dogs for many years have been tained to be agressive fighters, they have mauled and killed other dogs and people. They are blood thirsty due to many years and many generations of this type of training. I'm certain that there are some gentel and docile pit bulls, but I would bet a small percentage. In my estimation it would take many years to deprogram this inbreed aggression. Innocent little kids and little old ladys who may run into one of these dogs do not have the time to wait for this breed to be deprogrammed. Would you pet a rattle snake if it approached you non agressivly? |

| 1740 | Anonymous | I owned a Rottweiler for 8 years and can uncatagorically state that he was the best, most family friendly dog I've known. When my father was hospitalized following a heart attack, my Rottweiler was allowed to visit him in the hospital. You should have seen the faces light up when other patients saw him walking down the hallway. Strangers called to us from their rooms asking us to bring the Rottweiller to visit. Both parents of our Rottweiller were certified therapy dogs. This bill would eliminate a breed that is well suited for that type of program. The dog attacks that have occured were the fault of incompetent & irresponsible owners, not any one breed. Please don't punish all of the law abiding, responsible dog owners. Please look to punish those who break the law. Thank you. |
| 1741 | Danessa | There is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners! |
| 1742 | Anonymous | Would you ban bicycles if the children improperly riding them fall off and injure themselves? No.. so why would you ban certain breeds of dogs when people are treating them improperly? Crazy. |
| 1743 | david saulter | theres no other way to call it but discrimination the states should just start banning races cause its the same thing better yet how would they feel if their breed of choice was banned and how could they tell their young child that their best friend needs to be KILLED and done nothing wrong |
| 1744 | arlinda stafa | BSL targets the wrong end of the lead!!! |
| 1745 | Nancy Lee | Banning these dogs are just like somebody discriminating on another race and banning them!! |
| 1746 | Kelsie Norenberg | Dogs behave by how they are raised and trained. Just because they have a bad stereotype doesn't mean they're all bad dogs. They are just as loving to their owners and companions. They deserve to be adopted into loving homes and should not be taken out of their homes because of a new law. |
| 1747 | Nicole Anderson | Stupid people should be banned, not breeds. Some of the sweetest dogs I know are mixes of these so-called vicious breeds. |

| 1749 | shawna slogar | My Rotti is the sweetest family pet ever! I run a daycare and he is very loved by all the kids and parents! |
| 1750 | stephanie skar | My pit rocky is one of the best animals I have ever had! He is so sweet and so kind and I think the owner makes the dog into what they want no matter what the breed. Obviously pits have been a focus of attention due to their strenth and lock jaw. Its unfair to assume all pits are like this. |
