| 1653 | Travis Petersen | I have a husky myself and he is one of the most friendly loving dogs I have met. After playing he will hop up and sit on my lap and watch tv with me. The biggest reason why these dogs get a bad rep is the owners abuse them, be it physically or though neglect. Many of these breeds have ALOT of energy and need to play/exercise other wise they can get wound up. In turn a dog that is not exercied properly and has been abused is more likely to act out. Don't blame the dogs....blame the owners! |

| 1656 | Pamela Taylor | This ban is the epitome of prejudice. You are only selecting five breeds, why have you stopped there? Why haven't you included German Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, Boxers, Schnauzers, Huskies, Beagles, Terriers and Poodles? They have all been known to attack people and some are specifically trained for that purpose. Any animal can be indoctrinated or tormented into viciousness. The fault lies with the owner when it happens and they are the ones that should be held accountable. Not the dog, based on it's bloodlines. This bears an eerie resemblance to Germany in the 1940's. |
| 1657 | Charles Maddox | Representative Lesch needs to educate himself on the causes of dog attacks and perhaps propose laws that will allow for responsible ownership of all breeds of dogs instead of taking the sensational, easy way to solve problems for constituents. |
| 1658 | Katarzyna Niles | |
| 1659 | Steven M. Green | Imagine living in a state where the government declared that anyone with any Scandinavian ancestors in their family tree would be banned from the state, and if they did not leave they would be executed.
That is the awful truth of BSL. |
| 1660 | Pauline Green | |
| 1661 | Sara Brott | This purposed ban is not only discriminatory it is ignorant. Would a entire race of people be "banned" for their stereotypes? |
| 1662 | Samantha Jaap | As a certified veterinary technician, I just have to say that this breed ban has no merit. I see plenty of pure breeds and mixes of the dogs this ban would affect, and these are people's pets we are talking about. Not dangerous animals. As we always say, there is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners. |
| 1663 | Jordan Jaap | This is not a "cure" for the problem. EDUCATION is the only answer and these problems we find in dogs in our society stem from the people in our society.
"There are no bad dogs only bad owners" |

| 1671 | Brittany Bergo | I strongly believe that a dogs demeaner has EVERYTHING to do with the owner not the breed. To group breeds of dogs and label them as "dangrous" is rediculous and is just as bad as racism. |
| 1672 | Jeremy turner | It's not the breed of dog that u have. Its the assholes that raise them. |
| 1673 | Vy Yang | |
| 1674 | JONI M ERICKSON -WEISSENFLUH | My long time best friend has been in the fight of her life to allow her sweetest dog, (Sugar) the right to live within city limits of St. Cloud, MN, being the breed she is. I feel it is a form of descrimination or more so racism. It is like saying one white, black or chinese person does this, so they all must do it. Just because one Rottie committed a crime does not mean they all will. Focus needs to also be placed on those provoking. |
| 1675 | jill rochford | These breeds make wonderful pets. As I am sure you have heard before it is the owner who corupts these dogs. What would happen to the dogs that were already owned before this ban?? |
| 1676 | anthony jarmusic | If your going to ban certain dogs, you may as well ban all dogs. |
| 1677 | richard edwards | |
| 1678 | Dr. Justine Lee | |
| 1679 | Celeste Nelson | I own a pitbull terrier and she is a wonderful dog. She sleeps on the couch with my 2 year old and is very careful not to hurt my 1 year old. she loves people even strangers. the breed ban has not been researched very thoughtfully had it been it would be an owner ban. you are ruining the lives of millions of people and millions of dogs. |
| 1680 | Cara | |
| 1681 | Andi Farley Shimota | I love dogs, and I don't think that we should kill them for their owner's mistakes. I think that owners of these breeds should have to take classes on how to handle and train their dogs. |
| 1682 | Terry Farley | There are no such things as bad dogs, only bad owners. The owners of all dogs should be held responsible for appropriately training and caring for them. |
| 1683 | Jeffrey Griffin | Ban the owners, not the dogs. |
| 1684 | Julia Albrecht | What did they ever do? |
| 1685 | Nina | |
| 1686 | Ashley Shimota | By trying to ban these dog breeds you will accomplish nothing. I've met the nicest pitbulls & rottweilers who wouldn't dare bite a human. I've also met a west highland terrier who was no bigger than a shoebox who bit me so hard that I almost had to go and get stiches. Regardless of the type of dog a person has, it is the way they train their dog that really matters. In addition to this, many dog attacks/bites happen to people who are provoking a dog (ANY type of dog) and they will protect themselves. If a person walks over and tries to grab at a dog it would be natural for them to get away from the stranger by any means possible. |

| 1689 | Jacqueline Jackson | I'm a responsible owner of a Rottweiler and have had several thoughout my life. I think its unfair to take this out on the breed, when its the owners who are responsible for the behavior of their pets, regardless of the breed. It sickens me to think about being forced to remove my family member from the "State" or "euthanized. I strongly believe their should be some type of penalty for owners who don't take care of their pets or train them to be violent. But to stereo-type certain breeds is unfair. Here's a true story (police report filed and vet visit documented). I walk Greta (Rott) every morning and evening, two miles each trip. We've taken this route for years and had no problems with other dogs or people, everyone was surprised and shocked that it was a Rottweiler, she would rather lick you then bite. One evening while walking a neighbor dog runs out into the street (through a invisible fencing system) to attack my dog, this dog was half the size of my 114 lb Rott. You would think it becomes automatic that a dog would defend themselves when being attacked, she damn neared jumped into my lap because she doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body and she's been fearful sense. This attack has caused some emotional fear along with medical attention needed (ripped eye lid, eye solution twice a day with onitment and antibotics. What's my point, I don't believe these breeds should be banned, but there should be strict rules for "any" pet owner. |

| 1693 | Pat Minogue | Ban the owners or make owning pets a priviledge. |
| 1694 | Ruth Lindeman | The wrong kind of people own the dogs that have attacked and make them mean. Those people will just find another breed and corrupt it in turn, until we have no more to choose from. |
| 1695 | Jonathan BooHer | Rep.
This is a silly idea to ban a select type of dog, this will not solve anything, and will cost the state tax payers a good deal of money. Additionaly, many of the K9 dogs used will have to be replaced as they are part of the selected group. Also, the proposed dogs listed are by CDC listing not even part of the top five, so if one of the excuses are that these dogs rank top statisticly for bites, you have apparently not done the research, as some of the breeds proposed for banning are involved in fatal attacks less frequently than Labradors. To be honest I Rep., i have to ask if you are simply making the claims and accuasations to the the listed breeds because of personal biasis, a quick fix solution, or just ignorance.
I honestly can't even believe this is for real. Has politics gotten so ridiculous that they focus on controlling the breed of your dog? If they start controlling your pets, you know we have failed as a nation. Please take this into account, as this idealology is not alone in my thinking. |
| 1696 | Mary Sandelands | Maybe propose that certain breeds must be licensed and regularly checked by vets. If the vet doesn't verify the dog each (we'll say quarter) the owner could lose their dog. Kind of like a parole system...more to check up on the owners and how they are treating their dogs. |

| 1699 | Tayler Reichow | Do we put gang bangers to sleep. Is it their fault or their parents? |
| 1700 | Steve Reichow | Strongly agree with the above. Should not be labeled by breed.!!! Should be labeled by (DOG)
Agressiveness and owners responsibility. |
