Comments: There are sufficient laws in place to pretect the environment from modern mining degredations. As a miner, I am amazed to hear the rhetoric about land for free which we miners are supposed to be able to get! Please send me the locations! Getting a claim is a tiresome expensive process, and opening a mine is wildly difficult in many ways. Please do not make it any harder by rescinding the Law of 1872. It helped make America great!

Comments: Restricting the access to minerals will make the U. S. dependent on foreign sources for our strategic minerals like we are for our oil. The 1872 Mining Law is one of the things that has made the U.S. a great nation.

Comments: I strongly protest any prosposed changes in the 1872 mining law that would impinge on our access to public lands for the purposes of domestic mining. Individual prospecting investigations have led to some of the richest deposits of both precious as well as strategic metals.
