Name: Jonathan Welsh on May 5, 2007Comments: If you guys bring this car to the U.S. I will buy one. I currently own 2 VW TDI vehicles & understand the diesel's importance in moving toward energy independence in this country. I personally believe that Cooper will discover that they cannot keep the diesel versions in stock because they will sell so quickly.Flag

Name: John Schmidt on May 9, 2007Comments: I am an American who always tries to buy the most fuel efficient car available. That is a very difficult task here in the U.S. with the herd mentality that made the SUV the vehicle of choice. There has always been a more environmentally minded driver that longs for more fuel efficient vehicles ( not to mention a sporty, fun to drive vehicle). My wife and I currently own two of the most fuel efficient cars around. Namely the Volkswagen Golf TDI, and Volkswagen Jetta TDI. Both are diesels. Within the next year or so, I will be purchasing a new car. I have admired the New Mini Cooper since it was introduced, but purchased Volkswagens because of their superior fuel efficiency. The Mini cooper D could be my next car, if you would only make it available in this country. Bottom line, the time is right to introduce the Mini Cooper D into the United States. BMW could make quite a bit of money from this decision, and do something very environmentally responsible in the long term. A true win, win situation for BMW. Respectfully, John SchmidtFlag

Name: Anonymous on May 14, 2007Comments: At this point in time it is obvious to me that the Mini One D (diesel) would sell like hot cakes in the United States. HOT CAKES i say! I am in the market for a new car this summer. Currently, I have a 2002Mini and my next car will be a diesel or a Mini... leaning towards the diesel. Gotta do it! That's just the facts. VW here i come unless BMW/Mini tells me some good news. :-) Motoring USA CustomerFlag

Name: Ace on May 18, 2007Comments: I'm trying to see about importing a Dooper right now. It's such a shame that they won't give us the MINI Cooper D even though we are are all begging for it. I've got a VW Jetta TDI right now that I can sell for a great price just because diesels are so hard to get in the USA. Now that more diesels are coming in 2008, it's time for the MINI to arrive. Bottom line: I'd order a MINI Cooper D immediately when it came to the USA.Flag

I'm buying a MINI Cooper because it's one of the most fuel-efficient cars available here. Had the Cooper D been available, I would have bought one.Flag

Name: Warren on May 25, 2007Comments: I would definately buy a diesel Mini. I also asked MINIUSA if I could get a RHD in the US, and they said no. (Silly reasons, too; toll booths, etc.) Too bad, it would go nicely with my RHD 68 Mini.Flag
