Larry BawdenSurely this is a retrograde step as it adversely affect any future development of Milton Creek
Robert ScrivensLack of foresight and not thinking of the advantage to the youth of Sittingbourne to participate in organised water activities
Peter Fisher Hon Sec QYCThe construction of such a low bridge will prevent leisure craft from navigating to the Sittingbourne Yacht Club at Murston Quay and above. In recent years, a great deal of effort has been made in returning Milton Creek into a quiet and pleasant haven, from the industrial wasteland that it had become. The area is attracting visiting yachts, not just from Queenborough Yacht club, but also from further away. This effort will be wasted, and the area will return to a barren wasteland if the proposed low-level bridge cuts it off from potential visitors. The town and the surrounding area desperately need the increase in tourism that boaters would help bring. Tourism by sustainable water transport and should be encouraged.
C. RossI think it is important to maintain access for sailing and other craft to all the creeks and backwaters which are part of our local and national heritage. Leisure use of our waterways helps to protect this valuable environment and ecology from derelection and abuse preserving it for future generations. The case for the bridge should be sufficiently strong to justify the cost of an opening bridge for yachts to continue to pass.
John TuckAny bridge crossing the Creek must be lifting/opening to allow continued use of this waterway by sailing craft.
Steve gatesI think that a fixed bridge that does not allow the passage of yatchs would be a mistake. Sittinbourne needs to hav some attraction and what better than yatchs in the creek?

keith websterI am astonished that in todays age when regeneration & healthy leisure pursuits are supposedly encouraged by government that an asset such as Milton creek can be condemed to stagnation. This has happened all round our coasts in the past don't let it happen here.
Sheila HarrisonWe visited the Swale for the first time this week and plan to visit again to spend more time exploring this lovely part of the country. It appears short-sighted to narrow the options to encourage more investment, businesses and visitors.
