January 2008 Congress passed the Early Retirement Benefits Package for Military memebers who served 20 years in the National Guard and Reserves. This Retirement Package allows our Soldiers who are 50 years old to start to collect their benefits at the age of 50 years old not 60 years. The only thing that these Soldiers will not get is their TriCare Health Benefits. They will still have to wait till they are 60 years old for the Health Insurance. What is not fair is that our Soldiers who served and have 20 years of service or more and are 50 years old but retired prior to January 2008 are not entitled to this benefit. I feel what is good for one Soldier should be good for all. It is one Country that they served and it should not be for only certain Soldiers. I am starting this online petition so when I have enough signatures I am going to make my voice heard for our Soldiers by going to Washington. At this point Washington is saying they do not have the money to allow more Soldiers this benefit. I feel this is not fair and that is why this online pettion is being started.
