Comments: Mike Scott should be ashamed, as well as the people of Lee County, that while in uniform, he resorted to partisan tactics that do not reflect the objectivity that a man in his position needs to excercize in his community. I would be concerned if I lived in that community, that the Sherriiff has exhibited bigotry towards a segment of that county and I do not trust his ability to not approach his job with predjudice.

Comments: Blantent disreguard for accountability in his words as a public officer of the law. law enforcement should have more sense and carry themselves in a more professional manner. It seems as if though he is trying to create the next wave of or bubble of american racism towards the muslims of this country.

Comments: This behavior should not be tolerated under any circumstances. How dare Sarah Palin provoke such behavior. She is not a good Christian as she says she is. And for the McCain and Palin to pray on Americans fear of terrorism to get the upper hand is stupid. And trying to twist Obama’s words on live television during the second debate is a desperate act like a true dictator would do! What about how we are all suffering and how things have got out of control. Obama maybe not as experienced as McCain but he is very intelligent and knows how to approach any situation with the right resources and experienced people (Biden) for certain matters by his side like a true commander in chief should! He brings hope for us not fear!!!!!!!!!!

Comments: That cop is a disgrace. How dare he stand up in full uniform. Was he off duty at the time of his speech wearing the uniform of a civil servant He should be fired and not be paid a cent in severance. How dare he disgrace law enforcement officers all across the nation but especially in Florida where the law is usually considered racist. We all should make our middle names Hussein and then see what they have to say about that. For law enforcement to stand there along with that ice queen hockey pucker of a woman Palin and hear shouts of "kill him" and " terrorist" is a disgrace to Florida as well as all of Lee County. Disgrace.

Comments: Sheriff Scott, teacher Greg Howard...at what point do the elected officials of Florida start to feel shame about the conduct of public servants At what point do Floridians respond in shame Confederate flags run up flag poles and flown on the back of motorcycles...routine use of racial slurs in every day conversation in public places. I would think the adage that describes Florida as the trash can of the US might give the Governor pause.

Comments: well it is clear to me that Sheriff Mike Scott is completely out of line. He is not showing professionalism and is very unfair to Muslims. The Sherriff owes Senator Obama (the next President of the United States) an apology. He knows nothing about Obama and is definitley bias to other minoriity groups

By the way, the name "Hussein" can be translated as "small, handsome one" or "good-looking". It can NOT be translated to mean "terrorist". Unacceptable, Sheriff, unacceptable.

Comments: Racism, bigotry and inequality are NOT what America stands for. This behavior by someone who has been sworn to protect and to serve is highly unethical and should not be tolerated. Not only do I believe a public apology is in order, I also believe this Sheriff is deserving of an official reprimand. Obvious displays of hate are not okay in any form, by anyone.

Comments: A uniformed officer of the law spewing hatred gives us all pause in placing the public trust in the hands of a man who serves us all and is supposed to keep the peace. Remember, he will have to run for re-election and we all have long memories. He should be subject to an internal investigation and reprimand besides issuing a public apology.

Comments: Immediate action should be taken. This is not an individual that should be holding any position as a civil servant. Its obvious his judgement would not be unbiased and that is not the type of person anyone should have hired to protect the well being of them, their family or their community.

Comments: This is unacceptable. Should I be afraid to have this man pull me over on the Interstate He seemed rather hateful, not only in his words but also his demeanor. I have an Obama-Biden magnet on my car and I am originally from Calcutta. I doubt he knows the difference between an Indian and a Muslim, or cares. I do not trust him to conduct himself professionally or to treat me justly. I should not have these concerns about an elected public official. This petition calls for his reprimand and public apology. I think these are insufficient. Knowing his prejudices, I call for his resignation or termination.

He should exhibit the highest of morales and exemplify an official that is balanced and has respect for everyone. He needs to give a public apology.

Comments: Sheriff Scott owes Barack Obama an appology and I feel he should be reprimanded by the county for his actions. When you are a uniformed officer protecting Americans it is out of line to act in a manner that promotes racial profiling or creates panic or fear amoung the public. Shame on Sheriff Scott! Even if these were his true feelings it was not appropriate for him to act on these feelings while in uniform.
