Comments: I am a migraine sufferer myself. Although I have been using a CFL in my home desk lamp for several months and have not had a problem, I understand the torture of being forced to endure migraines because I could not avoid something that triggers my own episodes. Please consider the risks to the health and well-being of everyone, not just the non-migraineur population of the United States.

Comments: Please take the time to consider the negative health risks to migraine sufferers due to CLFs. It is an important issue to many of us. Thank you.

Comments: Luckily I work from home, but I've been in retail stores where flickering CFL's have immediately triggered a migraine. I avoid all triggers as much as possible, but with this bill it will make it impossible to avoid a trigger.

Comments: Unintentionally, CFL's cause significant pain to many people, some of whom might not even realize that it's a CFL triggering their headache. Also, we need to encourage many avenues of energy-efficient R&D, not limit by specifying only one solution or by banning another.

Comments: I'm grateful to find there's a petition for this. I've been in a state of grief since I heard about the original bill. These light bulbs are a huge migraine trigger for me (I can't even work with lights on in my own office). Amending this would be extremely helpful to me.

Comments: This is a concern not only to migrane suffers, but to other people who are negatively affected by flourescent bulbs. There are concerns over the flicker and blue-green spectrum that flourescent bulbs emit. While I certainly support environmental initiatives, I do not want the government to outlaw the use of incandescent bulbs. I have replaced most of the bulbs in my house with CFL's (especially the ones which remain on for long periods of time), but I find them unacceptable for use in certain areas such as bathroom, bedroom, reading room, or night-light.

Comments: CFLs also contain toxic mercury. Although not an amount that classifies a single broken bulb as hazardous material, this should also be considered as a concern.

Comments: While I am an ardent environmentalist, I cannot support a bill that makes no provisions for those who would be negatively affected. An extremely close friend of mine has to wear sunglasses and hats when in places with fluorescent bulbs...I don't want that to become her constant uniform. Please consider all Americans in the implementation of th energy plan.

Comments: My husband is an environmental scientist. Therefore, I am more conscious of the various harms being done to the earth than many people who have only just "jumped on the bandwagon" about our planet's finite resources. However, my daughter and many others (sometimes even I) react adversely to fluorescent light. She suffers from chronic migraine disease, and the fluorescent lights trigger a headache almost immediately. Please sign this petition. And please continue to protect our precious planet in other ways! Thank you. Mary Carol Geddis
