| 101 | Bonnie Troop | I was unable to work due to flourescent lighting. The lights would trigger a rare symptom of my headaches and that would be a golden aura blocking half of my right vision. Prior to working under fluorescents I only had this occur when I was at a complete state of exhaustion. Working under fluorescents (for some of the major heath insurance companies) geometrically triggered a succession of headaches which became more and more frequent over time. I have had classic migraines since I was nine years old. So prior to working under fluorescents I counted only a handful of times in my life with the type of sever headache where first I get an "aura " of gold which blocks half my vision, which is at first accompanied by no pain for about 2 hours; then pain and nausea hit. When this happened at work I would have to lie down for one to two hours for my vision to clear to be able to drive home.
We rent our house and there is a fluorescent in the kitchen which sits there like a trigger, ready for anyone to flick on. If someone turns it on for two long I will physically get up and move away from it so I can have peace.
So please, think of migrainers. I think epileptics may have a problem with the flickering too, as these two diseases are in the same area of the brain.
Sincerely,
Bonnie Troop |

| 103 | Anonymous | I had to leave a job due to the exposure to the lighting triggering migraines. I whole-heartedly approve this petition! |
| 104 | Brandi Thomas | I have to wear my sunglasses inside many stores as it is because I have no tolerance to flourescent light. Please take us into consideration. |
| 105 | Colleen Bourgeois | I hope this passes, this affects me so much and I miss work because of it and basically sit in the "dark" because of those horrible lights.
Thank you for caring! |
| 106 | Tara Chaplin | I am terribly worried about florescent lighting being more prevalent. It puts me in excruciating pain.

| 107 | Kristi Chavarria | Any effort should be made to safeguard the health of so many people suffering from migraines and other headache related diseases. Please take this petition serious. The quality of our lives have already been diminished enough without additional triggers that could easily be removed. |

| 112 | surella baer | I cannot tolerate CFL's and live in fear of the day that I cannot buy regular light bulbs. |
| 113 | Denise Carpenter | |
| 114 | Lucinda Giltner | Please allow for the focus of efficient lighting alternatives not just the change of type of light bulbs used. While CFL's do not trigger migraines, I cannot be around them after I have had a migraine. |
| 115 | Anonymous | people with migraine make up a significant portion of the population and we work too. These lights will increase the numbers of missed days of work and negatively impact the economy and our family life. |

| 120 | Kelly Gallagher | I cannot use CFLs under any circumstances in my home. Any version of flourescent lighting is a migraine trigger for me. Also, CFLs are not currently available in a low enough comprable wattage for my severe photophobia. |

| 124 | Laura M | Please take migraineurs into consideration and pass the amedment. There are millions of us out there. Migraines are a silent and serious disease. |
| 125 | Anonymous | This is SO important - CFL's are a HUGE trigger for so many people. There has to be another solution.
Thank you! |
| 126 | Nancy Bonk | As a Migraineur and someone who is interested in helping the environment, I purchased CFL's. After changing all the bulbs in my house my Migraine attacks were became frequent and severe. I have since had to change them back standard bulbs. |
| 127 | June Carter | I am one of the sufferers of migraine headaches who have experienced a trigger from CFLs. Please consider the use of LED lighting! |
| 128 | Rebecca M. Davis | Fluorecsent lights are a definite migraine trigger for me.
Also, if not properly disposed of as hazardous waste, fluorescent bulbs release toxic mercury into our landfills. Incandescent light bulbs do not. The warning labels on CFLs about proper disposal are very small. |
| 129 | Jasmine P Walton | I love protecting the environment: I shop with reusable canvas bags, instead of plastic water bottles I use a SIGG aluminum bottle, I'm conscious of how items are packaged before I purchase them, etc. As much as I understand the energy savings gained by using CFLs, they are still a migraine trigger for me. And honestly the fact that they contain mercury is a bit unsettling as well. |

| 131 | mellissa engert | I avoid places with fluorescent ligths because they trigger my migraine attacks. This includes the local wal-mart because by the time i leave I am dizzy and can't think straight! Please help protect my health by changing this law!! |
| 132 | Sarah Lyon | Fluorescent lights everywhere have caused so much pain and discomfort in my life and the lives of others. No one should be required to use them. Also, they use less energy, but still contribute toxic mercury pollution to our landfills when they are disposed of, and therefore are not the perfect solution to our problems. |
| 133 | Anonymous | I am very concerned about the environment, and always try to conserve and recycle. However, as someone who has had migraines for 30 years, I have had plenty of time to learn migraine triggers. CFL lightbulbs put out a tiny flicker, as do traditional fluorescent bulbs, and this is definitely a migraine trigger for me, and many other people. I just ask that reason and caution be used before mandating something that could harm many of us. Migraines are a disease. Please consider us. Thank you. |
| 134 | Marlene Sylvester | Just ask my husband...he has RP so he needs the light. I first purchased these bulbs a good 1 1/2 years ago. Had them right over the area where I do the cooking and at the kitchen sink. Almost everytime I would get a migraine when that light was on. I just figured it was just because it does get brighter. I did not realize what type bulb they actually were. Like another gal said I too am wondering what it will be like when that is all there is to purchase at the store. Talk about stock piling!!!
I couldn't believe when I read the article saying that a study had been done and it had shown that the lights do not cause headpain. Lucky for them.
