Name: Michele Handelman on Jun 11, 2010Comments: important for all midwives and advance practice nurses. we know the scope of our practice. we will be more likely to have improved access to consulting and collaborating doctors if they are not restricted to signing a proforma document which malpractice insurers limit and constitute restraint of trade for autonomous, well trained and indispensible health care providers. thanks for your support.City: nyUS State: New YorkFlag

Name: Christina Reich on Jun 14, 2010Comments: This is 2010, we are supposed to be a progressive country. We shouldn't be living in the dark ages. I should have the right to birth at home with my midwife. I feel safer with a midwife than with a doctor. I was born at home with a midwife as were many members of my family. It is unbelievable to me that I currently don't have that choice here in NYC.City: BrooklynUS State: New YorkFlag

Name: Tarra Knotts on Jun 16, 2010Comments: Although I am not in NY (rather CA) I feel deeply for these women and midwives that might have their choices taken away from them. My home birth was the most wonderful experience of my life. I could not have been cared for better thant I was by my midwife. An MD wouldn't have spent 1/10th of the time asking and monitoring my health during pregnancy. Midwives know they are there for healthy uncomplicated pregnancies to support a natural process. Please allow them to continue to support healthy uncomplicated pregancies and births where the mother chooses where to have her baby. Plus it saves insurance tons and tons of money and keeps baby out of a germ filled hospital (NY hosptial is known for their impressive superbugs).City: PacificaUS State: CaliforniaFlag
