I don't want monuments to Britain's asinine energy policy to be visible all over the beautiful Northumberland countryside. http://nuclearfissionary.com/2010/04/02/comparing-energy-costs-of-nuclear-coal-gas-wind-and-solar/Flag

Name: Alan Lowrey on Nov 8, 2011Comments: How much more? Widdrington, Fenrother, Butterwell, Stobswood, Blagdon, Lynemouth and now Elsdon. We are the dumping ground for the rest of the Kingdom. The southeast prospers, the Welsh get handouts, the Scottish get an unfair subsidy system the Northern Irish are placated with anything to stop them fighting. We in the Northeast are made redundant, our industries are shut down we are not even good enough to have a dual carriageway through the county and to cap it all the Coldstream Guards are to be disbanded, may I had, the Coldstreamer’s were chosen so as not to cause offence to the other parts of the UK who have Guards regiments. We are however suitable as the rubbish dump for all the Nimby's in the kingdom. Why not concentrate on solar panels, they are efficient, they do not have the same effect on the environment as wind turbines do and are virtually invisible from a distance. A little common sense and forward planning would be better than feeding Wind farm fat cats money.Flag

Name: Christine Goodwin on Nov 14, 2011Comments: I fully support this petition. Preserving our landscape heritage for future generations is more important than greed and profit in the present. The huge investment and government subsidies involved do not justify the very questionable and dubious benefits in terms of 'sustainable energy.' The money would be better spent on research into alternative sources.Flag

Name: Margaret Isobel Beech on Nov 16, 2011Comments: I am very oppossed to this wind farm, and believe it will distroy the open views and beauty of this area of Northumberland. The proposed very large turbines will be able to be seen as you enter Northumberland National Park from Scotland and from many other vantage points throughout the National Park and our beautiful unspoilt(as yet) Northumberland. One of Britains stunning places of natural beauty, space, sky and haven for wildlife. They are also going to be very close to some hamlets and it seems from what I have read about the companies intentions that no real consideration has been giving to any of these factors it is just about making money for landowners and the company involved even more than producing green energy. Their comments have been unbelievable and un informed.Flag
