Over the past several years, power service in Mid-Coast Maine has become increasing unreliable. Minor storms that in the past would cause temporary outages are now leaving resident's without power for the good part of a week or more. Central Maine Power, while saying they've been upgrading their lines and investing money into tree removal, has not been able to demonstrate that these so-called improvements are actually making a difference in reliable power delivery. This petition is an effort to urge Central Maine Power to do something about the state of energy in the Mid-Coast area; to recognize that the outages are becoming more frequent and lengthier than ever. Our hope is to gain enough support to force this monopoly to take action in the form of extensive and regular tree removal, increased circuitry and improved customer service for Mid-Coast Maine Residents.
