Hello, I am the proud owner of two micro pot belly pigs living in the West Island. The vast majority of cities such as Dorval, Pointe-Claire and Dollard-des-Ormeaux have a by-law against owning "livestock" (Livestock refers to one or more domesticated animals raised in an agricultural setting to produce commodities such as food, fiber and labor.) and pigs fall into this category. Now I am not using them for these purposes, however they then fall into the category where they also prohibit domesticated animals (Domestication (from Latin domesticus) or taming is the process whereby a population of animals or plants, through a process of selection, becomes accustomed to human provision and control.) Is a bird really supposed to live in a cage? A fish in an aquarium? a ferret in a house? No...All animals are slowly catching our attention and loving pet owner's are giving them a safe and happy environment to live in. So please sign my petition to allow me to keep my little piggies in their happy home!
