The council confirmed that Mick will be receiving the Freedom of King's Lynn. I am truly stunned by this result and it belongs entirely to the people who cared enough to sign his name. Thank you for making sure his record finally gets the respect it deserves.

Mick Wright Freedom of King's Lynn

Mick Wright played a total 1,152 (British Record) for Kings Lynn, which is a record which will never been beaten.

Mick has never been recognised for this incredible achievement, so we are campaigning to the Towns council to make this happen so Mick is given the freedom Kings Lynn Town

I used to support Kings Lynn FC in the 1950's and 60's. Mick was always inspirational to me and many supporters in those far off days. A definite legend and fully deserves to be honoured by the town he served so well.

Let's hope Mick gets the freedom of the borough!!! I have known Mick all my life, he was my late father Paul's business partner. I remember Mick giving the Fashanu's a run for their money in his testimonial at The Walks. Have seen Mick crawl to work after a match and NEVER complained!! Great man!

I saw him play many times. He was very able and could have played at a higher level. He always gave 100% In addition he was very brave and once saved a man form drowning. He has lived throughout in King's Lynn. I do hope this petition succeeds.

People who have done far LESS for Lynn have been given rewards, and after what Mick did for the town football team, why should he NOT be rightly rewarded? Had he been a pop star, he would no doubt have a medal or even a knighthood.

Had the pleasure of playing with Mick, he was fantastic with younger players and was a role model and a great ambassador for King's Lynn Football Club.
