Comments: I support this effort. We need to spend more on education now so we don't have to spend more on prisons later.

Comments: I would support the governor's budget proposal to fully fund K-12 education only if it keeps the same funding percentage for state aid. Do not go back to the old funding percentage for state aid.

Comments: As a school social worker I witness each day the nurturing, respect and high quality education that takes place in school readiness classrooms. Thank you for remembering the importance of the early years.

Comments: I'm currently a member of the Memphis Board of Education, and I feel it is imperative for the Governor to know that we must maintain $6,700 per pupil in funding if not more. Any deductions from this amount will only jeopardize our students education. We can not afford to continue to pay insurance increases, and salary increases with less money. Nor can we continue to educate our students at a higher level with less funding. Please support us in maintaining current funding levels or increased levels.

Comments: Please restore funding at its current levels of 6,700.00 per pupil. To stop shortages, maybe you could formulate all available monies for schools in our budget, and divide that by the total number of public school students to get an amount and that is what every school will receive for per pupil funding. It is not fair for some schools to receive more than 10,000 dollars per pupil and others less than 6,000 dollars. Something must be done to close this gap in education.

Comments: Honestly, Memphis is a terrible school and has too many hypocritical and lazy teachers. Some teach flatout the wrong thing. Stop teaching me lies in my history textbook, dont expect me to follow a textbook funded by the government that has all the power over me. It is obviously going to be bias. Fund schools, but fund schools that actually have hard-working and caring teachers. Not the ones who come to pick-up their paychecks and pop in a movie.
