Anonymous | This continuing witch hunt against decent Englishmen - who are supported by the public - is an outrageous waste of taxpayers' money. It demonstrates yet again that, partly because of the hated EU, this country is becoming more and more like a communist dictatorship.
Malcolm Lacey | SAVE ALL IMPERIAL WEIGHTS & MEASURES
Roger Ivan Knight | It's time the UK authorities stopped prosecuting ordinary decent people over trivi and did something about real crimes involving violence and/or dishonesty.

| 2561 | terry bell | Why do the Government allow such stupidity to exist, we are a free Country and Government interferance is becoming intolerable.
Health & safety is becoming a nightmare and is totally unreasonable. |
Warwick | What ever happened to DEMOCRACY!!!!!!
Anonymous | Why are we being railroaded into a political conspiracy by un-elected and failed politicians toward the Federal State of Europe?

P.Holdsworth | A pardon for all those convicted of these ludicrous charges is long overdue .However I would not hold my breath because under the EU`s mad bureaucracy this sort of thing is simply par for the course .
Adrian Blake | FASCIST EUROPE IS HERE AGAIN, STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE. Freedom as we know is deminishing, thanks to our politicians allowing a foreign power having supremacy over our birthright, the Freedom to Choose.
John Harold Waller | The loss or downgrading of the Imperial System has been a major cause of the poor educational standards that this country is now putting up with. The ability of people to use mental arithmetic is stymied by not having to learn the old Lsd and weight systems, measuring systems, etc.
Robert Atack | Whilst skiing in France, Chatel, last year, the local "Brewpub" only served draught beer in pints. Happy hour was 2 pints for the price of one, Unfortunateky they did not do halves!!
Antony Moss |
Brigitte Hyde | Of course he should be pardoned - I shall forward this to Her Majesty!

| 2578 | ray goodchild | I expect that 95% of the populas support this - this is where our so called democracy goes wrong, you can understand why the young are so apathetic about voting.
My tip - when I am in Sainsburys and I maybe buy a piece of meat or even a turkey which only has a metic weight shown, I always make a point of taking it around to the vegetable department and 'bung' it on their scales to work out the Imperial equivalent. |

Richard Galber |
Nigel Scotchmer, C.A. | I cannot believe Britain can behave like this. This is not the Britain that gave us the Magna Carta...
Pat Porter |
Barry Haines | An attempt to force England to integrate with Europe when we have had no vote to do so. The conviction is a disgrace.
Philippa Wood | People like Steve Thoburn serve to clarify measures for those of us who don't, (and never will), understand metric. I should have the right to understand the amount I am purchasing. I am ashamed that my country is willing and able to criminalise a man for being sensible.
Tricia Gurnett | These people should never have been prosecuted. Keep England's imperial measures. They're the only thing I understand, but in any event why should we always be the ones expected to change.

George Rogers | I also regret that Hackney Council are still carrying on with their prosecution of Janet Devers (18th January 2008) despite evidence from the EU Commission demonstrating that the government were acting illegally in the first place.
Irene Rowley |
M Peevers | I support this campaign to get The Royal pardon for the metric martyrs
| 2590 | M Anderson | The real tragedy is that the man who 'drew his line in the sand' is not here to share the victory.
Damn true. Could some type of permanent monument be built in his name? |
Alan Kirkby |
Anonymous | I am very pleased to be able to support this petition
stuart dockar |

H Khan | Who else thinks that those traitors who call themselves the British Government (who have have betrayed us on so many key issues) should be impeached and charged with treason?
frank Leeming | They deserve a medal not punishment .
Andrew McCann |
Peter GRIFFIN | You have my support.
