2307 J. CameronThe EU (as usual) and our own Government behaved in a way that would have been applauded by Stalin himself in this matter. It caused a lot of anger and anguish. It probably contributed to a good man losing his life. They were wrong. They must admit it . And we are still waiting for a vote on the EU in this country which we won't get unless we demand it. Steve Thoburn and his colleagues set a magnificent example - we all of us need to continue the fight.

2322 David YorkThe case was always hewavy handed and over bureaucratic. The key thing was that his scales were accurate. The EC is hateful, undemocratic and unwanted by ordinary people. I will never be European and object to the words 'European Union; appearing on my passport. I suspect Steve's family feel the same.

2336 AnonymousThis should never have been allowed to happen, the UK should be allowed to use the measurements they have always used. Shame on this Government in pursuing a British subject for plying his trade, I hope her Majesty will grant this pardon.

2342 AnonymousDisgraceful behaviour. There was a time when in this country there was a freedom to speak and to some extent do your own thing. Now we can do what we want so long as Brussels gives us permission. Lets leave and get back to some sensible decisions.
2343 Dr .GreethamWhy not prosecute Tony Blair for giving the weight of his new baby in pounds and ounzes.
2344 John Douglas
2345 John StratfordThat someone can be convicted of this in England is an abomination. I wonder that the people responsible can sleep at night. What must they think when they see themselves in the mirror?
