R.J.SmithSteve Thoburn has left a legacy of far greater value than anything New Labour can lay claim to. A pardon is the least we owe him.
Christopher Colton
NICK GREENPardon Steve NOW!
Leonard BrissendenThis legislation should never have been enacted. It is thoroughly un-British and smacks more of Nazi Germany and the infamous Hitler Youth movement.

John R. WalkerWeigh this again on the scales of justice - but do it by the pound

AnonymousWe need more like Steve Thoburn ... Long Live the Queen & Imperial Britain.
Peter LangdonRoyal Pardon is most clearly deserved. These convictions were a disgrace.

A TuckerI totally support this petition. This was a non-crime in the first place under any common sense system. But then the jobsworths are wired not to use common sense.

John M SealWe need to keep our traditions and heritage alive, and to recoup those that this government has destroyed or sidelined.

Archie SpeirsGranting of a pardon in this case must be accompanied by a clear statement that the sovereignty of the law in Her Majesty's realm of the United Kingdom, as enacted by Parliament, is supreme and shall never be interpreted as being subject to the provisions of any other organisation.

Susan MaxwellIt was clearly the stress of the proceedings, brought against a man going about his lawful business of selling produce to the public in the manner that the public required, that brought about Steve Thoburn's premature death. It is only right and proper that his name should stand ublemished. This man stood up to be counted on behalf of all UK citizens who just wanted to retain their traditional way of life.
Paul Oliver-SmithIf it was not for the venality of the EU realising that it was up against the US retaining the Imperial system, this appaling travesty of retrospective justice forced by the governement would never have occured
Robert FrancisPossibly this may also help discourage making laws with criminal consequences, for those who break them, when under British law, they would be civil cases. This is not to forget 'gold plating' of laws by civil servants.
Greg LANCE-WATKINSSteve was a 'salt of the earth' kind of ordinary guy who knew what was right and wrong and the stress of trying to defend what was right against the obscenity of the EU & Government Bullying based on their dishonest dogma and agenda sent this brave man to his grave in his early 30s leaving his adored wife and small children. This honest ordinary man was killed by dishonest politicians for expediency and Steve and his fellow Metric Martyrs should not only be pardonned but should together with Neil Herron, Vivian Linaker, David Delaney and others be awarded OBEs for their integrity and service to these United Kingdoms in the face of Foreign influence and corrupt politicians. Regards, Greg Lance-Watkins
Peter BoysAnother part of Tony Blair's disgraceful legacy.
R GARLICKThis petition should correct a monumental miscarriage of common sense if not of justice
Michael SibbonsIn a country where freedom of speech and many other traditiobal rights have been taken away by the same Prime Minister who invites these petitions, and then ignores them, I do not have much hope for this one.
Harry RandallMy blessings to Steve's wife. Harry
J Le Seelleur

John de LittleThe least the government should do is to pardon these gallant people who fought for an honourable principle and to issue an apology for their over zealous enforcement of an EU directive which flew in the face of the British people.

George EarleSteve Thoburn and all the Metric Martyrs refused to be crushed by oppressive EU regulation which our tyrranical Government tried to enforce. Now the EU itself has seen sense and that leaves our Government as the oppressor. There should be Pardons for the convicted and public scorn for the Government which is too morally bankrupt to be expected to apologise.
