Robin Arculus | We should never have been in Europe in the first place. We should pull out now.

ED ABRAMS | It's the very least we can do, the MM's have shown what can be done when you say enough is enough, everyone can learn a lesson from your courage.
richard webber |
Elizabeth Mann | We must make this happen
Simon Rose |
Anthony H Moore |
Richard Beddall. | This country needs a lot more hero'es like Steve Thoburn.
James Hemphill |
John Richards | More power to you over something that should never have happened in the first place. Perhaps the council concerned with the prosecution will sign the petition to ease their guilty conscience - perhaps
Robert James howat |
| 117 | w george | ASt long last sanity prevails. There was never any justification for banning imperial measurements which are readily understood by the majority of the adult population.
When petrol stations started switching to litres only. I ceased buying from those which did not CLEARLY show gallons-sadly, I had to go along with buying in litres when I had no alternative. The company that in future has pumps with both ltres and gallons(UK) will Iam sure gain customers at the expense of the metric maniacs i.e.govt bureaucrats! |
Edward Huxley | I hope this petition will succeed
Mathilde Iveson | Why was Steven Thoburn ever charged in the first place? He is a hero not a criminal. A posthumous Royal Pardon is a must.
Robert Temple | This man died to defend common sense against the insane tyranny of mindless bureaucrats. He also 'died for his country', just as much as any soldier in any war ever did. He should be awarded a posthumous medal.
Mr David Khan jarvis | This man was hounded by a ridiculous mis-application of the law as our bureaucrats (mis)read it, resulting in his death.
ROGER LEDGER | Well done all of you !
Carol Hewson | I am unable to understand why we Brits always do as we are told in Europe when we see all the other members flouting the law. I was in France recently & they defied the no smoking rule which came in on 1st May!! I was in a bar and most people in there were smoking. As a reformed smoker I was looking forward to a drink in a smoke free zone. I back the Metric Martyrs all the way & my condolences go to Steve's family. How dare our government hound these people in this way & not make sure other members conform to the rules.
terry kendall | Steve Thorburn and the other Metric Martyrs deserve a Royal Pardon for their 'crime' of selling goods in imperial units. We have had enough EU interference in our lives, which has been wrongfully condoned by successive UK governments.
J B Willcox | A Pardon is the very least that should be done.It should never been done in the first place.
steve riley |
Rick Simpson |
Charles Dyas |
Sue Doughty | Pardon him, please - he was right all along.

| 131 | Richard Workman | Just recognise that you were WRONG.
Also recognise that the British people have had enough of this mad European experiment. |
Anthony Taylor | They should demand compensation
Mr Mrs Thomas bratby | Imperial measures are within Stonehenge
Peter Whitfield |
John Mills |
Val Cowell | Lets prove that Britsh justice isn't totally lost to the British people despite our membership of the wretched European Union.
Peter Manchester | These people must receive a pardon if any justice remains in the U.K.
bob isgate |
A.H.Lever | It is time to bring back British Government to its former task of looking after British customs and people
B. Mildwater |
Bill Burrows | If there is any justice in this world the European Commission should insist on the pardon. However, there is non eand they wont.
C. Mildwater |

Simon Hooberman | Given that compulsory metrication is not being pursued, thank goodness, it makes no sense at all to have these convictions hanging over people who did nothing wrong.
Henry Bicket |
William Battersby |
| 148 | Leonard Welsh | Steve was caring for the old citizens, it was a diabolical
liberty taking legal action against him and the others. |
