Comments: To whom it may concern: I personally enjoy metal-detecting as a hobby, and as a frequent visitor to the beautiful state of Arkansas, I would appreciate the opportunity to pursue this interest whenever I am there.Would you please consider lifting the ban on said hobby in your State Parks Our hobby is closely akin to fishing, and a lot less dangerous than hunting, both of which are allowed. There must be some viable solution to this situation. Please consider our petition. Thank you!

Comments: Thank you for the opportunity to speak on behalf of most of the Detectorists,Many of them belong to Clubs and know the proper digging pro- cedures. Also many items of personal property have been returned to their original owners. And being in the park is also a confort to many individuals who use the parks and bring children. In most cases Detectorists create a cleaner enviroment as well. Please reconsider the valuable contribution our Hobby has made to thousands of individuals, many of them are Veterans and some are disabled as well.Kindly consider all the ramifications that exist before placing this Petition on Retirees,Vets and others that are doing very little harm. Thanks From Me and my friends.

Comments: Please be considerate of the few of us metal detectorists to pursue or hobby. Most of us do abide by the laws and do not disturb archcological sites. Those that don't should be prosecuted.

Comments: A compromise could be to make metal detecting on state parks allowed only to individuals who are members of resposible detecting clubs with bylaws that kick out club members who violate state park regulations. This is what alot of hunting clubs do if their members violate Natural resource laws and regulations. This would help insure that the state parks could help control irresponsible metal detecting enthusiasts. Simply put if you are not a member of a responsible detecting club and don't have a membership card to show park security you are in violation.

Comments: I am from Arkansas and visit routinely. Understand that extraction of coins can be done cleanly and without any damage to the ground. In fact, it helps the ground and lawns by aerating it. You have everything to gain and noting to lose by assisting us in our beneficial hobby.
