Name: Arrel Carter on Nov 29, 2009State: ARCountry: USComments: Surrounding states allow metal detecting in their state parks. I hate telling my friends in other states we are not allowed to detect in our state parks. I only wish our leadership could understand it is not that destructive. They allow ATV, mountain biking, etc and that is far more destructive than metal detecting will ever be.....Flag

Name: Randy Woods on Dec 6, 2009State: LACountry: USComments: Why does a state spend taxpayer money for hunters, fishermen, golfers, etc. then ban another groups hobby We as a people are no longer in charge! Bureaucrats and other power hungry government officials are running roughshod over our rights as citizens. I also think metal detectorist,s get the blame for armadillo,s and other animals diggings. If a hunter on a WMA breaks a game law, do you ban hunting If a person with a metal detector breaks a law, punish him, not everyone who happens to own one! This country is quickly becoming a banana republic! We built this country, we pay for this country, and are treated like criminals! I have had enough!Flag

Name: Steven Gilbert on Mar 28, 2010State: ArkansasCountry: United StatesComments: The hobby of metal detecting is enjoyed by millions of people around the globe. Our state and federal parks are owned by the people and are to be enjoyed by the people. Most rules in our society are meant to protect from harm and abuse. Let those who try to abuse be the ones who face sanctions. As with most hobbies, the folks who enjoy them are the ones who care about abuses and help police such situations.Flag
