We, the parents of MES 2013-2014 Grade Five students, are aware of current the plan to double our children's class-size next school year, and assign one classroom teacher to teach all 24 students. We are aware that this will cut our child's teacher face-time by half, and are very concerned about the decrease in quality of education as related to a drastically increased teacher-to-student ratio.  We are aware of the data and research that indicate a positive relationship between student outcomes and small teacher-to-student ratios.
