Fortunately, I am not one of his victims, but one of my best friends is, as well as several other friends from grade school. I am the mother of two children and would be devastated if something like this happened to my child. He does not deserve any appeal, regardless of the situation. Evidence supported his conviction and he should remain behind bars for the rest of his life! It would be a great disservice to any child should a predator like Merzbacher be released.Flag

He is evil, cruel beyond words and he has not changed. There should never have been a plea deal offered in the first place. If he gets out, he will rape again, he will torture again, and this time he will kill. When is enough enough for victims and citizens in general? Keep this wretch in jail for life, as he was sentenced (4 life +10 years). If he gets out let's hope and pray that the 13 other cases (nulled processed at the time of the Murphy trial) can then be brought to court!Flag
