We, the undersigned CPBD stakeholders who are affected by a merger of the NCBDC into the AIBD corporation and, whose voice has been denied in the course of action taken by the NCBDC Executive Board and Council do hereby demand the opportunity to be heard through a sanctioned and authorized vote of the entire NCBDC Certification holder roster. The Vote by NCBDC Stakeholders shall consist of the question with a yes/no response as to whether the NCBDC should be merged into the AIBD or other options considered that retain the independent corporate structure of the organization. Likewise, until such a vote can be provided and results tabulated, the NCBDC President shall not sign the NCBDC-AIBD merger document.

Steve Allen Shard, AIBD, CPBD, United States4 years ago Comments: Despite financial issues, I don't understand the need to merge AIBD and NCBDC. NCBDC was created specifically to be an independent testing and certification body separate from AIBD. Merging them would be counter to the original charter for NCBDC that I voted for in 1995 at the Charleston AIBD convention as a member of the national Board of Directors. The purpose of creating NCBDC was to create a certification agency independent of AIBD so that non-AIBD members could achieve certification status without being required to join AIBD. Merging the two organizations would appear to contradict the original charter. Unless I can see why the two should merge, I would not be in favor of a merger.
