The MPI Southern California Chapter (MPISCC) advocacy movement is an organized process, driven by a group of meeting and event professionals, students of the industry, regional business leaders and local politicians. This movement aims to influence public policy and resource allocation decisions within political, economic and social institutions that will protect and drive positive results for our industry, as well as the communities in which we work and live.

MPISCC advocates have a passion to educate on, and showcase the value of, one of the largest and most economically beneficial industries in the country: the meetings & events industry. The success of our industry directly impacts us in our careers and workplace responsibilities, and also contributes to a prosperous economy. MPISCC advocates are the caretakers, leaders and future leaders of the meetings & events industry who enthusiastically protect and promote the industry to all individuals and institutions it touches.

MPISCC meetings & events advocacy is composed of media campaigns, promoting relevant stories on social media using the #MeetingsAdvocacy hashtag, public speaking opportunities, and commissioning and publishing research and surveys.
