Even if an athletics track is buillt at Sighthill - which is doubtful - that might as well be in another city to the people of East Edinburgh. With all the money spent of tackling obesity and health promotion, it is crazy to rob us of this facility

    Comments: Meadowbank is required as their is no other training tracks in good condition in Edinburgh and this is needed until the new place at Sighthill is compleated

    Comments: Meadowbank has had a track for nearly 100years. Saughton track is a porus surface and athletes who continually train on it end up with "shin splints". There are plenty of facilities for most sports, but limited for athletics. It would be feasible to maintain the track at Meadowbank and build a stand on opposite side, and build the additional facilities where current stand is, and take it out to the main road.
