The petition
We, concerned voting constituents of District 120 San Antonio, stand in solidarity with all other District voters who were shocked, baffled and disappointed at the recent actions of our State Representative Ruth Jones McClendon. So many questions must be answered.
Why, “she would back the Republican Craddick who cut the Children's Health Insurance Program for poor children, terminated home health care for 80,000 seniors and disabled people, and was in bed with Tom DeLay’s illegal money scandal. Why wasn't she backing her Democratic sister instead”- Senfronia Thompson: the longest-serving woman and the longest-serving African American legislator in Texas history. Therefore, unequivocally, McClendon’s integrity, morality and principles are questionable.
Has Ruth McClendon sold us out to benefit herself? One must question her actions due to the continued lack of economic development, lack of educational resources, and major health disparities on the Eastside - during McClendon’s tenure.
Help us send a strong message to McClendon. We urge you to take actions to eliminate such misrepresentation of power, given by the people from McClendon’s district. And you must become more vigilant and active and monitor the doings of your elected officials.
