It has come across as a shocking realisation to a large number of viewers around the globe, after his milestone-portrayal of ‘Dr. Ashutosh’, that one of the finest actors of Indian Cinema & Television has until now, not been deservingly acknowledged, recognised & celebrated. Like Robert Powell in ‘Jesus of Nazareth’, Christopher Plummer in ‘Sound of Music’, Colin Firth in ‘Pride & Prejudice’, Gregory Peck in ‘To Kill A Mocking bird’ & Charlton Heston in ‘Ben-Hur’, Mr. Mohnish Bahl has carved a niche for himself as Dr. Ashutosh in ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’(KTLK), episode 1 – 110! 'Dr. Ashutosh' evolved into an iconic character due to Mr. Bahl’s in-depth, intricate interpretation, depiction and portrayal of this role, just like all the other classic actors we have highlighted for their respective roles. By this, we intend not to compare Mr. Bahl with others; but to emphasise his worth and popularity with clarity. KTLK viewers all over the world were drawn to this serial only because of Mr. Bahl’s timeless, exemplary & colossal performance.
As a co-host of ‘Savdhaan India ... India Fights Back’, Mr. Bahl has once again proven his versatility. Many who did not watch this show previously, have become inspired, ardent followers of it due to his powerful and effective anchoring skills, and of course the ever pressing content. Mr. Bahl has shown viewers that he is proud to be part of this greater cause. His dedication and commitment to promote social awareness is continuously being witnessed through his earnest narration, total engagement in the issue at hand and his fervent call for us to Fight Back! Whatever he does, he does with complete conviction and involvement. We, his fans, are of the conviction that given an appropriate lead role, Mr. Bahl will inevitably excel in it and draw thousands more to his fan pool.
This is a humble request on behalf of the fan-following around the world, to your Production House to “exploit” his potential and calibre as Lead Actor! For if this is not done, we’re afraid Mr. Bahl will remain an unsung hero. That will not do; especially for lovers of the art of in-depth, mature acting! If we’re not making ourselves clear, let us quote you an example……Why not have Mr. Bahl portray the ‘Zemindar’ character in the novel titled ‘Zemindar’ (Author - Valerie Fitzgerald 1983, Historical Fiction (1850s India) Bantam, Amazon ASIN 0553228455)? or as Michael Corleone in a remake of "Godfather". This would give India & the rest of the world an insight into Mr. Bahl’s ‘true potential’! By way of this example, it will be clear to you that we hold Mr. Mohnish Bahl in very high esteem. We sincerely hope that you & your production house will seriously consider our 'collective request’. It would be a golden opportunity to showcase the much needed classic entertainment, through engagement with Mr. Mohnish Bahl! We hope that the triumphant image we have of Mr. Bahl as “Dr. Ashutosh”, is extrapolated to the next level; be it Television or Cinema. We hope to watch Mr. Bahl evolve into another substantial character; be it Television or Cinema. We hope that Mr. Bahl will be given another ‘deserving’ role; be it Television or Cinema.
Thank you all...
