There has been rampant corruption involving Mayor Vincent Gray's appointees. The scandal of his appointees has made national news. Mayor Vincent Gray does not appear to care about the high rate of corruption in his administration. Recently corruption has been brought to the attention of Mayor Vincent Gray, but Mayor Gray has done nothing to resolve the problem. Gray has appointed individuals who violate the law and believe they are above the law. Mayor Gray is aware of some of the unethical behavior of some of his appointee's. When the unethical behavior is brought to Mayor Gray's attention, he always states that he was unaware of the corruption. The unfortunate truth is that there are still corrupt Gray appointees that are head of DC agencies. Mayor Gray's reluctance to reprimand his current employees is based on a rampant system of cronyism taking place in the Gray administration. The District of Columbia deserves better. When people are hired based on cronyism, black mail, or behind the scene deals; the District of Columbia does not receive the competent agency heads that it deserves. The current Gray administration is an embarrassment. Gray should not remain Mayor if he does not investigate and address the corruption that has been brought to his attention. It is time for the residents of the District of Columbia to speak out against this corruption. Such scandal should not be allowed in the nation’s capital.
