Dear Mayor Tavares, Maui County Council Members and Planning Officers:

As a Maui Visitor, I am disappointed to learn that the County of Maui is closing down Bed and Breakfast and Vacation Rental Homes because they are not permitted outside of urban, hotel and business-zoned areas. You are limiting my choices as a traveler, making it difficult for me to enjoy the natural beauty, serenity and privacy which I seek on vacation. Staying in the countryside, associating with a local family, and having an authentic experience of aloha lifestyle is important to me. If you would welcome my business in the future, please adjust your zoning regulations instead of closing these small businesses. Thank you.
