Comments: Judge Joseph Moore is on a par with the judge who claimed that sometimes, when a woman says no she actually means yes. Great to see the legal profession has so much respect for women that it's okay to hit us in the face as long as you're sorry afterwards.

Comments: As someone who has been the victim of domestic violence I'm angered and frustrated by the outcome of this court case. When a man hits, pushes, punches or slaps a woman he's not only a gutless coward, he's breaking THE LAW. Remember that That thing that is supposed to protect the victim and punish the criminals Being from a prominent family, or being famous should not equate to being above the law. Shame on you Mr Newton. Shame on you Judge Moore.

Comments: domestic violence is never ok against a male or female. Matther Newton and all the other pricks out there who punch their partner when they are angry and frustrated should stop pretending that they live by different rules.

Comments: It is disgraceful that in this day and age any man can get away with such violence, especially when there is such strong evidence. There is no excuse for his actions. Most disappointing is the court's acceptance of his defence - that he was suffering a breakdown - without providing provisions that he seek ongoing mental care. What a good card to play Matt... you're not a wife beater, you're a crazed (probable) drug addict. How Hollywood!

It is so typical that a guy like you can get away with it, just because your father has been on tv and you have been in a few B-Grade movies. I hope he gets NO work, ever again... like he needs it anyway! DON'T PUNCH YOUR GIRLFRIEND IN THE FACE... pig!

Comments: The arrogance is astounding. a) Take responsibility for your actions Newton; b) Problems stemming from mental health issues require professional attention - Judge Moore had ample room to accommodate this in any judgement he could have chosen to hand down; c) Bullies SUCK. BIG TIME. Be they on television or otherwise; d) No person has the right - at ANY point, to degrade the life of another - for ANY reason; e) He's good enough to get work overseas, is he Great. Another second-rate Australian actor pumping out a crap American accent...
