AnonymousI have a Aang and a Sokka. I was hoping to find Katara and a Toph, I searched all over the internet hoping to find them... But alas I came up emty handed. So I hope this letter will get Mattel to Make a Katara and a Toph. Do it for Aang and Sokka.;(
TinaI think Mattel should be ASHAMED of itself. I cannot believe that sexism like this still exists. If Mattel does not think that there is a female market for this show, why are there just as many commercials geared only to girls as to boys aired during the Avatar ? Oh, I see, the girls can WATCH the Avatar show, where the female characters are just as important as the male ones, and are great role models as well, but then they should just go out and buy a Barbie or a Bratz!!!! This is sending such a bad message to our girls-don't play with toys that represent great role models-just play with toys that set them up as considering only looks and being sexy as important. This is also sending the message that the girls are not as good as the boys-simple as that. We should boycott or sue Mattel-whatever it takes. This is a blow to girls' self esteem and Avatar fans everywhere.
Elaine BeckettIf there was a Toph, or Ty lee, or Katara, I'd totally get one. Especially Toph.
Amanda F.A huge portion of the Avatar fanbase is female. We female fans love the show not only for its unique plot and strong characters but also for the spectacular fight scenes! Action figures are no longer strictly the toys of little boys. With so many powerful female characters in the show and so many female fans, it is ridiculous not to produce female action figures.

Julianne HenryIt is high time that female toys come out. I want at least as many different females as there are different versions of Aang.
KaitsYes, girl love! Toph kicks butt better then the boys anyway. :D

KimFINALLY! Someone makes a petition about this! I know the little boys that Mattel is trying to appeal to will like girl action figures just as much!

Elisa ArdellI do not understand why you would alienate half of your viewers by not distributing Female Characters within the Toy line.

Chrisie McKinneyAs an older fan of the show (who thus has more money to spend on merchandise) and a female fan at that, I strongly disagree with the lack of the girls in Avatar as Action Figures. The girls are a major part of the show and there are no figures of any of them. I find it vexing that there is a figure of a random Fire Nation soldier who isn't even given a name, and yet Katara, who has been a major player on the show since the premier episode and the other girls are excluded. Even if the show is targeted toward young boys that should not mean the toys should only reflect the male characters. Personally I feel my collection will be incomplete until there's at least Katara, Toph, Azula, Ty Lee, and Mai have been made into figures, though I would also like to see Suki and Princess Yue.
Alexandra SharabianlouThe fact that mattel has no female Avatar toys is not only a shame, but an opportunity that the company is flat out ignoring, thus resulting in petitions like this. The lack of female ATLA characters is descrimination and an insult not only to the girls and women who watch the show, but to the creators of Avatar as well! They put Toph, Katara, Suki, and so many others in positions and situations that prove that girls are not weaker, or not as warrior like as boys, there are about four episodes with plots that circulate around girls proving to everyone that they are not weaker, but in most cases, BETTER than the boys! Not representing one of the main concepts of this show through a lack of female action figures is a disgrace to the company name.
MaddiPLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! make female action figures! PLEASE!

MelI'd like to think that this was done because the male action figures were posed to sell more, and not that mattel is being sexist in any way. But, the fan-nation has spoken. Give us our girls!
KaityI've been watching this show since the beginning and I cant believe that Mattel wont make the girls. The only thing that will happen to them is that they'll get more money because of the popular demand of Katara, Toph, and Azula figures.
hannaqh fI think my two girls would rather get a Toph or Katara doll rather than another Aang or Sokka doll, or a "some guy" doll. Boy the money that could be made and the children you could make happy, This is the buisness you are in , correct? To make children happy, and their parents happy? I wish that i worked in plastics. I would make my own rendition of the female charators. It would be the next face gracing the paper plate at my childs birthday party and I would make lots of money and make everyone happy.
AnonymousI am a big fan of the show and I can't believe there are no girl figures! It makes me mad! I want figure of Katara, Toph, Suki, TyLee, Mei, Azula and Yue!
AnonymousHow can you make Sokka and Aang and not make Katara? They're a team! Come on Mattel!
Beth and LukeIt is so hard to believe that they STILL don't have Katara action figure at least. She is the central character after Aang!! The toy companies sure do start early teaching our sons that girls are not important. My husband says that wouldn't sell, but my son and I totally disagree. It is time Mattel, come on!!

Malcolm Spencer"I am 5 years old. I love the Avatar. Why don't you make Katara toys? Explain. Please. Now."
Deirdre SpencerYour decision to feature strong female characters such as Katara and Toph in the show (as well as the Fire-bending mean girls) strengthens it tremendously, and it seems rather lame that this line of thinking is not carried through to your marketing and toy development departments. Katara, in particular, is an essential part of the power trio (now quartet) on the show and this glaring omission is truly mystifying and appears sexist even to a child. What's up with that? Bring on the Katara and Toph toys!

AnonymousI have two daughters who have been asking me for the last year when they will be able to have Katara and Toph.
AnonymousMy daughters beg me for the girls whenever we see the action figure aisle.
David LeslieIt totally stinks!! Please make the whole series of toys...don't exclude the girls. I mean...really...did the princess Leah action figures NOT sell.. Hmm.... Wake up Mattel!
TarynI cannot believe you think girls don't play with action figures. It is beyond sexist.

Allison PI agree with this, Katara, Toph and Azula among others should be put in the toy line. Most other shows have there female stars in the toy lines. Like, pokemon, yu-gi-oh, and Dragonball Z, ect. I do not think that it is feministic to think that the girls of the show should be added. I think that it's only fair.
AnonymousThere are a lot of powerful females in this show, as in many. The girls need rold models too, it isn't fair for the female fans of the show to go to the store, and then not be represented there.

RayMy six year old daughter would really love figures of the girls from Avatar

Mary CatherineYes, please do give us the girls. Katara has been in 39 of 40 episodes and you give us War Paint Sokka and Spirit World Pakku? Why, exactly? I will not be buying any of the toys until I can buy Katara, Toph, Azula, Ty Lee, and Mai. The girls in this show are just as good or better than the guys. I realize little boys dctate what you want to make, and you think little boys won't want girl figures. To that I say two words: Princess Leia. You can't play Star Wars without Leia, and you can't play Avatar without those girls.
AnonymousI totally agree
AnonymousWe watch Avatar all the time at our house and I would love to be able to buy a Katara action figure for my Daughter who is a huge fan and has several other action figures from the show already. Katara is one of the main characters in Avatar and I was disappointed to not be able to find her for purchase.
Anonymousmy niece loves the show. she loves katara and it is not fair to her at all.
stephanie cortesi totally agree! i too have not seen any female versions in the toys and it would be really cool to have them!
ShelleyI'm hoping for Mai and Azula action figures! =)
