This petition was initiated pursuant to the satisfaction of widespread and demonstrative public demands on behalf of fans worldwide, as evidenced by the signatures herein, which call for an international theatrical re-issuance of The Matrix, property of Warner Bros. Pictures (hereafter referred to as The Matrix.)
All participants inclusive to this petition agree that the elevated standards of theatrical presentation are imparitive in order to facilitate the appropriate level of audience perception that this groundbreaking intellectual property, and its fans demand.
Among the undersigned, many of the individuals that have become avid fans of \"The Matrix\" have been limited to experiencing this complex and pioneering film domestically and feel that it is a detriment to the entertainment value of the trilogy as a whole, due to their alienation from the complexity and clarity of this film as it was intended to be seen.
Despite the release of \"The Matrix\" on Digital Versatile Disc (DVD), these enthusiasts state that the material of any film as it is exhibitted after digital transfer reliably pales in comparison to the resolution, clarity, and objectivity of color that are present only during theatrical exhibition. In addition to these visual concerns, they also cite the fact that audio systems capable of accurately reproducing the audible accompaniment as it was intended to be heard remain for the most part prohibitively expensive, uncommon, and dissimilar, such that the originally intended experience can not be wholly obtained, neither audibly nor visually, by the majority of the participating parties herein through domestic means of personal exhibition.
It has been deemed unfair and unjust by the enthusiasts described above that the diminishment of their perception of this intellectual property, and their lack of inclusion within the original theatrical campaign of \"The Matrix,\" regardless of reason, present a condition of inequality that disassociates themselves from truly taking part in the collective experience of this cinematic epic in its entirity.
In light of the vast scale and soon-to-be historic achievements of the film\'s imminent successors, it is the belief of the individuals among the undersigned described above that material of such high standards merits an equal opportunity be given to all fans of this film to experience it at the zenith of its quality in order to adequately perceive the impact and visionary scope of this epic, and its future installments, without flaw.
By signing this petition, it is the explicit and expressed belief of all participating parties that the theatrical re-release of The Matrix is both vital and necessary in order for themselves and their colleagues the very enthusiasts that have populated, have propelled, and have been directly responsible for the phenomenon surrounding this film to attain the full potential for audience perception, enjoyment and sensorial understanding of the trilogy as a whole; specifically in regard to the preservation of continuity within the transition from the first installment (The Matrix) to the second and third installments (The Matrix: Reloaded and The Matrix: Revolutions, respectively) as it was intended to be seen: during theatrical presentation.
The re-issuance of this film is defined herein by the concensus of the undersigned in terms of a limited run during the first half of 2003, as can be arranged by Warner Bros.
