The town finally reversed the policy and committed to a new control plan. This has been a long and heavy road since losing Matey but your support forced them to act. We have the result we fought for yet I will be watching closely to ensure they keep their word.

The memory of what happened to Matey keeps me up at night but the support here helps me keep moving. We are nearing one hundred signatures and reaching that mark will prove the town cannot ignore us any longer. Please keep pushing this forward because I am exhausted but I am not stopping.

I have seen several large coyotes personally and frequently hear packs of them at night when I walk our dogs. I have true concerns for the small children who play in our neighborhoods as well as concern for our pets. The ones I have seen could easily harm a child or adult.
Our family dog of 6 years, a Papillon named Ziggy, was killed in the exact same manner in Wild Dunes in April 2015. We need to cull these monsters.
This is awful! It is happening more and more on Isle of Palms as well. I don't even feel comfortable anymore when my mother goes out walking at night. Our cat disappeared this summer and rarely was ever outside. We have "animal control" to "control animals". We are required to have animals vaccinated against rabies. This is just wrong.
Coyotes are walking around in broad daylight on Sullivans and Isle of palms, my cat was killed right in my front yard in the light of day. I've lost track of the amount of cats I've heard of being killed and I now know of three dogs, what's next our children? Something has to be done!
We don't allow other dangerous wild life to roam freely through our neighborhoods. Children and elderly people have no defense against these creatures. Our dogs are required to be on a leash and under control. I have lost a family pet, and been scared on my nightly walk by these creatures. Time for action.

My friend's boston terrier on 24th was attacked in her fenced backyard.. Thankfully, she was nearby and she screamed and chased the coyote, so her dog survived with only puncture wounds. Pets should be safe to be in their own backyard. This isn't a couple coyotes. The population is out of control and they are desperate for food.
