PETITION TO COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT - CITY OF TORONTO

WE, the undersigned, support the application of the Muslim Association of Canada ('MAC') for the minor variance to have the parking requirement waived for the property at 84 Adelaide St. East, Toronto, ON. At present, we are unable to attend prayers at Masjid Toronto (located at 168 Dundas St. West, Toronto), primarily due to its distance from where we work (in proximity to Yonge St. and Adelaide St.) and due to the chronic shortage of prayer space there. Although three Friday prayers are held at Masjid Toronto, the space has become very tight and many of us have to turn away. Opening a small prayer space at 84 Adelaide St. East will provide a great relief for many of us who reside and work close to 84 Adelaide St. East.

We would highly appreciate a decision in favor of the application by the Muslim Association of Canada by the Committee of Adjustment of the City of Toronto its meeting of March 7, 2012.
