Your children will be directly affected by a line item in the White Plains School District’s proposed budget for the upcoming school year 2012-2013.
- For next year, the proposed budget calls for MAS to increase the average class size to 26.5 students, by reducing the number of 4th Grade classes.
- This is a huge jump in class size and is currently unprecedented in any of the elementary schools below fifth grade. As a matter of fact, Church St. & Ridgeway are adding one more fifth grade class, lowering their class size for 5th Grade to no more than 22 students per class.
- In the new budget proposal, our 4th Grade class will endure the largest class size in the entire district at the elementary level.
