My fiance and I were informed that she would lose her disability entitlements if we were to get married. She has Spina Bifida and one trip to her doctor without her medicaid would put us in debt forever. SSI was set up to help one person households which means all disabled persons who cannot get out and work will never be able to get married if they find the right person. I want to try to get this changed so they can get married and NOT lose all of the disability entitlements.
