A number of parents have inquired about and expressed interest in having a marksmanship program as an opportunity for the Cadets in the ROTC Program. We are circulating a petition to share with Major Penczak and the administration to show the interest and support from current parents.

This petition is in hopes that you would consider supporting the addition of a Marksmanship Team within the CNHS NJROTC Program. The Marksmanship Team is an integral facet of any Junior ROTC program. It instills further self discipline, boosts mental acuity, increases endurance and stamina as well as having a positive effect on confidence with strong roots in physics, mathematics and history. Unfortunately, the CNHS NJROTC is absent this integral part. Our ROTC Unit, which happens to be the "Most Outstanding Unit in the Nation" 2023 and 2019......Yes, the best in the country right here in Colts Neck, deserves the opportunity for scholarships as well as increased interest from many universities. Some examples of schools that recognize the value of Marksmanship include Arizona State, Clemson, Columbia, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, MIT, Penn State, Purdue, Texas A&M and The Citadel all highly esteemed institutes of higher learning. The program consists of stringent safety measures taught and reinforced at each meeting. The cadets will learn proper technique, including mindfulness, focus and agility in order to perform safely and accurately every time. The U.S. Navy will supply all necessary equipment to the program as they do for many NJROTC throughout the State of New Jersey including Neptune, Jackson Memorial, Manchester, Rahway, Elizabeth and Atlantic City, to name a few. There is a very large population of FRHSD students within the program who, with their parents, support this endeavor fervently.

It is with this request that we implore you to consider bringing this program to light and support the move to make this a reality for our Most Outstanding Unit allowing our children to excel in yet another discipline.
