Name: Matt Brighton on Mar 24, 2007Comments: As one of Marks students and advisees I believe that the loss of Mark's skills not only as an academic but as a teacher and an adviser would reduce the quality of education offered by UEA. It is rare to find academics who are gifted with the ability not only in research but in communicating complex ideas to undergraduates in a manner that is both informative and empowering. I beleive the reputation of UEA would suffer from this loss.Flag

Name: Dominic Bray on Mar 25, 2007Comments: If the funding is there I'd like to see him stay, if it's there and he doesn't I'd like to know why, and if he is leaving I ponder why Tim SMith hasn't been offered a position on faulty either...Flag

Name: Peter Ely on Mar 25, 2007Comments: I am a first-year History student, and have only known Dr Knights since the begining of this year as Course "controller" of "The Enlightment" module, which I am studying. Despite this short time, I have have greatly enjoyed the enthusiasm and deep knowledge he has for his work. He would be an asset to the School as a Professor.Flag

Name: Steve Jarrett on Mar 27, 2007Comments: Excellent lectures -all singing - all dancing! Perhaps you had to be there... Seminar groups where a lot of preperation is needed because you know that you will be enticed into a contribution or two. A comprehensive knowledge of a broad spectrum of the syllabus and how the various historical themes fit together. Aproachable, friendly, helpful, good sense of humour and probably the one person in my first year who made me feel that I was making some progress through the course, in the right direction.Flag
