From next Friday (7th November) staff of the UCU union will be boycotting marking our work over a pensions dispute.

Last Thursday (30th October) Student Council voted to back the boycott and against giving all students the right to have a say on it.

The marking boycott will have a huge impact on many students. Last time this happened it lasted until May, putting holiday and graduate work at risk.

We deserve to have a vote on whether or not our Students Union backs the boycott.

The 110 students who were at Student Council are not enough to give legitimacy to backing something that will have such a large effect on so many of us.

If at least 320 students sign this petition then the Union will have to have a referendum by its own rules.

Please sign below and put your student number (the number on the back of your student card) as a comment to show we're all students here.

To back something that will affect so many of us, the Students Union should have to ask us what we think and give us a vote.

We the undersigned demand a referendum on the question "Should the University of Bristol Students Union support the marking boycott"
