Classroom instruction in labor education should be required by law for all high school students in all private and public schools in the state of Michigan. Mandatory labor education means that high school students will be required to attend a class that teaches them the importance of labor unions and the labor movement. The class would also include a brief history of the labor movement. If high school students attend labor education classes, they will be prepared for the world they will face after they graduate. After they graduate from high school, they may get a job in a factory, and they should know that they have the right to organize a union in that factory, and they also have the right to support the union movement in other ways. If students do not have labor education, they will graduate from high school without understanding their rights, and they may be treated unfairly in the workplace, and they may fall victim to unfair labor practices.
